Protocols

Epoch

A fixed time interval at the end of which a protocol tallies node contributions and distributes token rewards to eligible participants.

Epoch lengths vary by protocol: Helium uses 24-hour epochs, Filecoin uses ~30-minute epochs. Rewards are computed at epoch boundaries based on the accumulated proof records. Understanding the epoch cadence helps operators predict when rewards will appear in their wallets.
