How DePINly estimates GEODNET base-station earnings. Last verified 2026-05-22.
TL;DR
A decentralized RTK/GNSS base-station network. Model rewritten 2026-05-21 to the real verified mechanics (docs.geodnet.com + GEODNET support + Blockworks/Moken analytics): only triple-band stations earn (dual-band = 0/day, GIP6), base 12 GEOD/day with an annual halving (24 in 2024-25 → 12 now → 6 on 2026-06-30).
Earning mechanics
- Satellite gate: ≥29 effective sats (SNR≥32) = 100%, ≤26 = 0%, linear between.
- Uptime gate: linear 50%→0, 100%→1.0 (below 50% of the day earns 0).
- Hex saturation: a hex saturates at 3 miners; co-located (<100m) share one reward.
- Baseline reported: ~$1.8/day on ~$695 hardware, breakeven ~385 days.
Formula (sketch)
dailyGeod ≈ 12 × satelliteRatio × uptimeFactor × hexShare (triple-band only)
monthlyUsd = dailyGeod × 30 × GEOD_price ; breakeven = hwCost ÷ dailyUsd
Assumptions & confidence
| Assumption | Basis | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Triple-band only, 12 GEOD/day, annual halving | docs.geodnet.com (verified) | 🟢 |
| Satellite/uptime gating | GEODNET GIP/support | 🟢 |
| Hardware prices ($495/$695/$1095) | store.geodnet.com (2026-05) | 🟢 |
| Hex saturation (3 miners) | GEODNET mechanics | 🟢 |
| GEOD price | CoinGecko live | 🟢 |
NOT modeled
SuperHex (stake 50,000 GEOD → up to 14×) upside, exact mid-range satellite curve, local hex competition specifics, GEOD volatility, the 2026-06-30 halving impact on forward estimates.
Confidence rating
🟡 — Among the best-sourced calculators (verified mechanics + hardware), but earnings depend on local satellite reception and hex competition, and GEOD is volatile.
